The Upside – Level 8 Rooftop by Rockwell Group

Luxury lounging rooftop pool on boutique hotel Moxy South Beach in Miami, the Upside comprises vibrant elements to create a dynamic fusion of style and culture. Inspired by 1950s Miami glam and romance of Havana cruises, this space unveiled by the Rockwell Group is a blend of evocative spaces, curiosities and experiences including several site-specific installations

Curated and slightly submerged wire and cord lounge chairs, as well as daybeds for sunbathing, are paired with a custom freestanding screen that allows for outdoor rooftop movies. An elevated open, cabana-style concrete roof reveals a breathtaking view of the ocean. Artist Edward Granger creates a multi-faceted, custom ceiling mural that’s prominently displayed beneath a giant canopy, an element celebrating the thriving street art history of Wynwood.

We love the sleek, minimal and modern architectural elements juxtaposed with a stunning pool of the warm and inviting property surrounded by the vineyard and the hills of St Helena by Jonathan Rachman! Modern and old-world pieces seamlessly complement the interiors, blending the outdoor with indoor living.

Designed to create a styled experience of romance and relaxation for the inhabitants, doors in each room have been built to allow the outdoor into the indoor, expanding the living area. Furnishing and lifestyle interjected rooms overlook this exquisite pool.

A seamless transition from Honolulu’s distinctly verdant, urban environment into the serene, artfully curated interior landscape of the newest Ward Village offering by Tihany Design balances luxury living highlighted by sophisticated lightness with fresh pops of colour, warm refined details with breathtaking waterfront views and vibrant community philosophy.

From the elegant, open lobby to the uniquely intuitive public spaces, the use of natural materials, authentic Hawaiian ancestral and colonial design inspiration with the intimacy of details showcase the harmony of rhythmic graphic symmetry and organic forms breathing with the ocean.

With an entire terrace built out of the consistent Valders limestone of the house, there is a delightful visual flow of spaces connected by the continuous flooring in the unified material. The cantilevered primary bedroom suite provides a completely column-less outdoor covered living room that extends directly to the amazing infinity edge pool and spa.

An adjacent building serves as the fitness centre, connected to the main house underground. Soft landscape done by Edwina von Gal accentuates the modern architectural structure of the space making this pool ambience impeccably desirable.

A Bengaluru home by Channa Daswatte (see scroll above)

Rooted in Sri Lankan architecture, the expansive Bengaluru home by Channa Daswatte features exquisite Sadarahalli rough stone around the pool area, adorned in sleek stainless furniture from Ricco, Sri Lanka.

Utmost sensibility and simplicity conceptualised by the architect breathe elegant vernacular architectural details juxtaposed with a contemporary feel of the pool. The materials used in the pool perfectly elevate the verdant property bathed in natural lighting and refreshing open space with a story for every part of the home.

A quaint gazebo set against the pool in the Goan villa designed by Studio Wodehouse is perfect for the sunny outdoors! Shonali Mahajan conceptualises a Mediterranean dream charmed by minimalist luxury in the middle of Goa with soft neutral tones emphasising the shades of blue.

Opening out to the majestic pool and backyard on its right, we love how the living room is precisely positioned. The gazebo with neutral furnishing and a variety of textures makes this spot perfect for reading or spending time with friends and family. Muted pots placed in front of double-stepped arched windows create a consistent visual flow with the flooring.

Martand Khosla’s Holiday Home

Sprawled across a tranquil coastal landscape, a 100-year-old jackfruit tree, thickets of cashew and betel nut trees surround the Martand Khosla Home pool. Situated in the densest portion of the spice orchard in northern Goa, the scenario is intricately picturesque.

With the living room looking out to the pool deck below, this property is located in the base of a hill on the banks of the Chapora river and emanates a seemingly isolated paradise amidst the verdant expanse. Ideal for an idyllic family getaway, this serene retreat leads to a black–and–white chequered verandah with mesmerising views.

5 Element House by Puran Kumar, Studio PKA

Edgeless, cantilevered swimming pool is refined by textures and subdued wintergreen walls, mimicking the tones of the earth. Puran Kumar of Studio PKA has crafted a stunning 5 Element House for Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, which overlooks Pavana Hill with spectacular views of the lake, the dam and the forts of Tungi and Tikona, clad in an earthy palette of limestone accented by exposed brickwork.

Inspired by his visit to Ladakh, seamless interaction between the indoors and the outdoors has been fashioned by Kumar with landscaped walkways, allowing the owners to enjoy experiencing nature trails as they walk to the infinity pool.

Striking Penthouse Rooftop, Joe Vadgama (see scroll above)

The plunge pool by Joe Vadgama is the highlight of the Striking Penthouse Rooftop in Goa with unsurpassed elegance. The blend of light and concrete harmonises the solidity and beauty of this destination pool inspired by a toned palette of raw timber, wood and steel providing style and a sense of serene cleansing.

“I turned this 1,000 sq ft space into a sleek, imaginative, non-fussy and fairly rustic home, using a distinct warehouse-style. Concrete, brick and steel are employed for an unfinished look that’s complemented by the many shades of grey. Since it is set on the banks of Goa’s Nerul river, the home’s fluidity is derived from the confluence of neat, straight lines,” concludes Vadgama.

Qualities of warmth and ease transmitted by the sunken fire pit and built-in seating paint this pool by Edel Legaspi and Christopher Courts for the project, an inviting serene destination that anchors the end of the pool. Clad in Santa Barbara stone, the extra deep seats offer to relax while being immersed within the lush trees and landscape. Light reflected by the pool creates luminosity and an old-world charm.

An arched covered loggia with the outdoor kitchen and dining area flows seamlessly into the backyard where the resort-style pool lies. From the Baja shelf with an integrated umbrella pole to the raised Santa Barbara stone wrapped spa that doubles as a water feature, its central location is perfect for all sorts of entertaining and relaxation under the beautiful backdrop of the warm Spanish façade!
