Navigating winding paths, as one tiptoes to Vitalda Serenity crafted and built by Isprava, this precise essence engulfs you like a soft exhale amidst the coconut trees and sea breeze, materialising the inherent Goan way of life.

Within the emerald landscapes of the seaside state, the tropical blanket encircling the Isprava casas doesn’t just paint the picturesque setting but exists as a part of the villa itself. “Minimalism, clean white façades, generous openings, curved and wooden arches and sloping roofs come together in a composition that feels timeless rather than nostalgic,” recalls the Isprava team.

Inside Villa A…

A part of an intimate enclave of seven residences, Villa A amid lush greens and halcyon blue sky, replicates the tight-knit community neighbourhoods of a Goan village. An emblematic break, rather an opportunity, to squirrel away from swarming travellers, this villa reinterprets a classic Goan-Portuguese retreat coalesced where, “High ceilings draw in sunlight and fresh air through arched windows, making the interiors feel open yet grounded.”

A Hora Da Sesta

Muted grey cobblestones intersect with the green moss, sauntering from the communal spaces to the private nooks. Sculpting the grounds with vagaries of palms, shrubs, creepers and efflorescent flowers weave a botanical mosaic.

Drawing radiant sunbeams and balmy breeze through the lithe, crescent windows creates a lyrical balance with the terrain around. A glass of crimson Vinho do Porto complements one’s hours spent at the terrace, framing the copper orb with streaks of burnt orange, apricot and hints of lavender painted in the sky. As the A-frame roofs outline the facade, screening the home from monsoons, they sustainably harvest rainwater beneath the silhouettes. Away from the city’s tempo, the getaway is designed to slow you down with the warmth of a traditional lifestyle.

Devagar, Devagar

The softscapes, light and materials precede the home, opening outwards to the tactility of nature, while shifting milky clouds are mirrored in the aqua pool. The layout integrates cross-ventilation and natural light, allowing the spaces to breathe. Soft undertones of greiges paired with muted blush tones and warm wood serenade its dwellers into an idyllic space.

As the salt-scented breeze rustles the branches and darkness spreads across, the interiors gleam lucent. Marked by wooden flooring and exposed rafters, the living and dining space opens into an open plan. Suites caress with wooden floors, soft rugs and muted accent furniture creating a bucolic bower. With muted dado tiles, black countertops and thoughtfully integrated niches and lighting, the spa-like retreats with aromatic clouds. Textural flooring finishes, arched passageways and an austere palette create a dialogue between comfort and nature.

The balcão, a semi-open sit out, blurs the line between ‘ao ar livre’ in the open air, inviting one to finally pause from life’s bustle and look up to the starry night. Isprava shows that it is sometimes not architectural influences but an encompassing cultural impact that shapes the built spaces — a lingering saudade to live the Goan life, experiencing siestas, the taste of salty breeze and a warm summer tan.
