This teenage sanctuary planned by architect  Manish R Dikshit of Aum Architects is a masterpiece that is a testament to exceptional design. The three separate areas reflect the adolescent’s interests and hobbies and are finished with exquisite detail: the bedroom, the home study with an adjoining bathroom and the multi-purpose walk-in wardrobe. The distinctive colour palette used in the room is its beating heart; the black marble floors provide a sophisticated foundation, while the bright yellow accent in the bedroom invigorates the space with the orange hues in the bathroom encapsulating the spirit of the adolescent.

This enchanting space dubbed the Drool Room in Ludhiana is designed by principal architect Palak Singla of Design i.O, where a vibrant jungle motif turns the space into a kids’ wonderland. Every corner is a playground, free of sharp angles thanks to the organic curves and rounded design components. 

A lively green wallpaper with an animal line design adorns one wall with the room’s white ceiling cascading gently down onto the walls, creating an illusion of natural movement that serves as the room’s main point. The custom-printed sheer curtains with animal designs create a whimsical atmosphere above the cot while the strategically designed toy units make up a circular reading nook. The Drool Room is a realm that will adapt to the baby’s changing needs as they enter toddlerhood and beyond.

Discover this crowning jewel—a meticulously crafted kids bedroom designed by principal Kanya Samay of Kinaaya Studio. Packed with intricate details and a lively colour palette, this space seamlessly incorporates all the essential functions. The challenge was to lay in the sleeping, playing, studying, and storage areas while preserving an open floor plan and allowing room for the kids, aged 7 and 5, to move freely.

The initial inclination towards bunk beds evolved into a bespoke plan, positioning individual beds beneath a whimsical play area inspired by the kids’ preferences—a race car and a princess chariot. A balcony adorned with custom curtains complements a creative wall featuring an arched black and whiteboard and a pinboard for the kids to unleash their creativity. On the opposite end, wardrobes and storage seamlessly integrate into the room tying the space together into one whole.

Ergonomics meets functionality by Rasneet Anand Design

In the realm of nursery design, the focus extended beyond mere aesthetics for principal architect Rasneet Anand of Rasneet Anand Design who embraced a holistic approach that caters not only to the baby’s comfort and functionality but also considers the ease and well-being of the mother. 

The designs feature a thoughtfully curated palette of neutral colours and soft pastels while incorporating materials like cane, jute, and wood. This intentional choice aims to create a serene environment, allowing playful elements in the art, curtain ties, and wallpaper to shine without overwhelming the space. Transitioning to tween and kid’s rooms, the tween girl’s space revolves around a tropical pastel wallpaper, embracing femininity with accents of pink. A a brass mirror and a neutral white and grey inlay chest of drawers add sophistication, while earthy elements like wooden flooring and cane blinds infuse warmth. This children’s bedroom crafted by principal architect Charita Kishore Rupa took centre stage right from the initial brief, reflecting the paramount importance of her clients.
