If the tricky business of setting up a home has ever sent you down an Instagram rabbit hole, chances are that you’ve come across ALTROVE. With the efficacy of a Formula 1 pit crew, Founder Shreya Mantri and her team of design alchemists excel at turning unassuming spaces into idyllic sanctuaries of warmth. The Pune-based e-commerce home decor and lifestyle brand has garnered a cult following online for their bijou curation of decor and furniture staples. But something still felt missing. “Our products are superbly crafted, tactile, honest and those are things you truly appreciate only when you can see, touch and experience them in person,” stresses Shreya. The time was ripe to turn ALTROVE into a living, breathing universe people could experience for themselves. And as fate would have it, the perfect location soon came knocking: a 35-year-old, 1,800 sq ft bungalow in Pune’s Koregaon Park, complete with a sprawling, 1,500 sq ft outdoor space. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and Shreya, despite being 5 months pregnant at the time, went against everyone in her life suggesting otherwise and signed the lease in a month.
That leap of faith paid off. Today, ALTROVE’s flagship stands as a natural extension of their dreamy, watercolour-soaked universe of design. It welcomes you into home-like vistas replete with texture and craft, while still holding onto the same contemporary design sensibility and middle-maxist attitude (a delightful middle ground between minimalism and maximalism) that sets them apart. The flagship even functions as a vibrant community space, holding space for Mahjong sessions, Yoga classes, as well as interior styling courses taught by Shreya.
"We wanted the flagship to feel less like a store and more like a home to bring both context and clarity for the shopper"
Shreya Mantri
