For budding architects from the age group for 23-35 years, seeking to expand their network, Everest NextGen offers a golden opportunity. This initiative provides a platform to showcase their work in the field of sustainability to influential audiences such as prospective clients, industry leaders and design aficionados. It’s not just about visibility, participants get to connect with like-minded individuals and forge meaningful relationships with mentors. The added perk? The winners will get social media coverage on renowned design platforms.
How to participate and shine in the Spotlight?
To be part of this transformative journey, architects need to articulate the significance of their work and submit a 10 slider presentation with an executive summary highlighting the sustainability parameters as mentioned here or send to boardsandpanels@everestind.com by December 31, 2023. A panel of experts in the field of sustainability will meticulously evaluate submissions based on sustainability parameters Selected entries will be curated and edited under the Everest NextGen Spotlight branding, ensuring widespread recognition across the social media platform of Everest and ELLE DECOR India.
Environmental integration expertise
Everest NextGen sets the stage for architects to showcase their environmental integration expertise. Judges will assess how architects incorporate environmental elements into design, construction and operation, emphasising adaptability to dynamic weather conditions.
Participants from the competing sectors of the Residential, Commercial, Hospitality and Healthcare are encouraged to participate in this sustainability-led initiative and showcase their unique skills and competencies.
Architects from the above four competing sectors are evaluated basis of any three out of six of the following parameters themed around sustainability:
Innovation
Innovation techniques of how well are the environmental elements implemented in the design, construction, and operation. The architects are judged on their ability to modify existing structures and spaces to give them a fresh makeover, while simultaneously using design elements that foster future adaptations based on dynamic weather conditions.
Resource efficiency
Judges will evaluate participants on the efficient use of resources, including renewable energy systems, rainwater harvesting and pollution reduction techniques.
Topographical mastery
Architectural prowess will be demonstrated through accurate topographical mapping, emphasising design detailing of contours and topography.
Sustainable material selection
Architects are encouraged to stand out by using sustainably sourced materials, reflecting a commitment to environmentally conscious construction.
Indoor environment quality
Evaluation includes inventive ventilation strategies contributing to a steady microclimate within structures like passive lighting systems
Community engagement and functionality
The balance between design aesthetics and practical usability of space, along with local engagement of labourers and artisans, plays a pivotal role in determining top architects.
