Prime Time: Playing around with yellows and blues
AUG 31, 2015 | By Risha Merchant
Who ever imagined that these totally contrasting colours would make such a great pair? Designer duo Sandeep Khosla and Amaresh Anand took this bold step for a Bengaluru home, with ingenious results. Firstly, if you have a lot of space to deal with, don’t be afraid to pair primary colours together as your foundation palette. Here the unexpected combination of the neel blue wall and yellow polished Jaisalmer flooring work really well. Balance the richness of these hues by adding a textured cast concrete grey wall (added to form definitive zones in the area) and the white partitions. Finally, accessorise well. Remember since these colours are deep, the pieces need to stand out and not get lost. Try different seaters in contrasting but complementing hues like clay red or soft pistachio green and accessories like rugs with ethnic but not too busy patterns. Simple and statuesque lighting will complete this look. Also read: Stylish seaters to help you relax and unwind
