Glass, a material known for its sheer clarity, has transcended its conventional uses and has become a versatile medium for interior design. Sanjyt Syngh, an interior designer based in New Delhi, has taken the concept of utilising glass to a whole new level, imagining a space that seamlessly integrates it into various forms.

Sanjyt Syngh’s design prowess shines through as he guides us through a space conceptualised entirely using Saint-Gobain glass. The entrance, a masterpiece in itself, features an abstract passage completely clad in glass from floor to ceiling. This sets the tone for the entire space, establishing glass as a central element in the design.

Moving into the living and dining space, Syngh demonstrates the adaptability of glass as wall cladding. A massive fireplace, adorned with stone, is enveloped by glass, creating a fusion of materials. The dining area shows an innovative use of glass, with coloured Lacquered glass forming an elongated dining table. Syngh emphasises the functionality of this design, allowing for easy interaction while enjoying a meal with family or friends.

The designer’s appreciation for the dramatic effect of Lacquered glass comes to the forefront in various elements of the space. Tinted glass partitions and headboards add flair, while tables crafted from glass introduce a modern and sleek aesthetic. Syngh encourages fellow designers to embrace the challenge of incorporating glass, not only for its 100% recyclability but also for its long-lasting quality. Lacquered glass offers a sleek and modern aesthetic, enhances durability, facilitates easy maintenance, and adds a layer of protection to surfaces, making it an ideal choice for both practical and aesthetic purposes.

The unique nature of glass allows for endless possibilities in design, from wall panelling to furniture. Syngh’s creative use of glass opens up possibilities for designers to experiment with form, function and style. As he aptly puts it, “Glass is such a unique material. You can use it in so many forms, but design swaad-anusar“.  In a world where innovation is key, Sanjyt Syngh’s vision challenges the norms and inspires one to reimagine spaces through the lens of this versatile material.
