Is it possible to let art anchor a home’s energy? A Pichwai, some carved wooden details, cane furniture, woven textiles, and collectables, carefully placed throughout the home, prove that Raaga by Adhwa, a 2,050 sq ft home, can do just that. The interiors of this home were designed around the art, letting it pop and be among the first things you notice as you move through the space. Indian kaarigari is the protagonist of this Ahmedabad home that exudes warmth across the space through familiar materials like timber, terracotta, exposed bricks and textile-inspired artworks.
The entrance is where carved wooden details and a well-curated console offer a glimpse into what lies ahead. Vintage-printed blocks framed like artwork, a ceramic lamp, and illustrated cabinet shutters lend the corner a nostalgic nod without overdoing it. A Pichwai artwork, glowing against the foyer’s deep red backdrop, anchors the space between two wall sconces. Around it, a sculptural chair, a handcrafted sideboard and a delicate screen create a composition that feels as though each piece has found its place over time. Even the smallest plant finds its place without interrupting the sense of harmony.
