Solving the impossible question “what do you get someone who has everything?” is Ralph Lauren Home’s brand new flagship store in Delhi.Redolent with the scent of jasmine from the label’s best-selling candle range, the sprawling store conjures up — in steel, mahagony and leather — the luxurious comfort that’s synonymous with the Ralph Lauren name. We spotted a sumptuous queen-size bed in a creamy palette fit for an Aurangzeb Road heiress, a wide leather couch that could easily double up as a Sunday lounge spot in a Chhattarpur farmhouse, and embroidered cushions (Made In India, mind you) that some might mistake for a fashion accessory. We can imagine Delhi’s power players gathering around the elegant Polo Bar set, sipping Old Fashioneds out of the engraved glasses. As for Diwali shoppers, nobody will ever second guess your taste if they open up their gift boxes to discover a classic Ralph Lauren Bedford towel or a gold-trimmed hurricane lantern. You’ll have a hard time turning down the deluge of invites that’s sure to follow.
