Duravit celebrates thirty years of the classic Starck Barrel

Celebrated French industrial architect and designer Philippe Starck, the design’s creator, states “The Starck Barrel collection goes back to the origins of water in our homes: vertically flowing out of pipes from a well and collected in a bucket. It is a simple bucket but treated with the utmost technology and rigour. Vision and honesty are the guarantee of the unique longevity of the collection. It was the right product 30 years ago and it still is today because it is not based on any trends, but on humanity.” 

Re-interpreting classics

The new c-bonded technology of the washbasin elevates the elegance of the classic Strack Barrel. This functional combination of a vanity and a washbasin is now available in a variety of finishes and colours to accentuate various ambiences. The updated shape of the basin complements the bathroom furniture, aligned to further enhance its sleek, contemporary build. Finished with HygieneGlaze Plus, the piece adheres to a higher standard of cleanliness, facilitating easy maintenance as well. 

Crafted with care

Each Starck Barrel is unique, shaped individually by a painstaking manual process. The multi-ply bentwood base tapers down further in a conical shape. Available in high-gloss shades and subtle nuances with surfaces in a satin finish – a range of elegant combinations to suit unique bathroom ambiences emerges. With a range of five different finishes, the furniture handle is also committed to making a statement. The piece is further enhanced by internal LED illumination, making it ideal for storage as well.
