If the ceiling is the fifth wall, then the wall itself has long been the most underused surface in the room: flat, functional and rarely asked to do more than hold up a shelf or a frame. VOX’s Linerio and Welo collections make the case that the vertical plane deserves the same design intention as everything placed against it. Together, they represent two very different ways of arriving at the same idea: that texture, rhythm and depth can transform a wall from background into composition.
Linerio, VOX’s slat panel system, works on a principle of repetition. Available across three lines — S, M and L — each varying in the width and depth of its slats, Linerio lets a designer dial the intensity of a room up or down: narrow S-Line slats for a tall, contained feel; the wider M and L lines for a more spacious, spa-like calm. The palette runs from Natural and Mocca wood tones through to Chocolate, White, Grey and Anthracite, giving the system enough range to anchor a private bedroom or the crowning statement in a hotel lobby. Linerio isn’t decorative alone; its slatted profile improves room acoustics, cutting reverberation in a way flat panelling never could, which is perhaps why it has found favour in home theatres, office pods and open-plan living spaces where sound, as much as sight, defines comfort.
