We dare say that even the last queen of France, Marie Antoinette would have approved Italy based visionary Alberto Apostoli’s Atrium Spa & Beaute overrun with opulence. Located in Macon, France the spa is a “hidden” gem perched in an old underground crypt spread across two levels.
On the ground floor, there’s a stylish New Baroque salon, while the staircase in porcelain stoneware tiles directs to the lower level exuding a medieval aura. A curved corridor leads to the wet zone featuring a Finnish sauna and steam bath on one side, and to a treatment area with two tasteful single and one couple’s room devoted to therapies from the world over, on the other.
At the end, a tea corner with a cabinet that seems to float, thanks to underside illumination, makes for a holistic experience. From the lighting to customised furniture, “the result reflects a mix of pre-existing stone and contemporary materials, managed through a thoughtful creative process,” Alberto concludes.
We recommend their tailor-made vinotherapy treatment for every wine connoisseur that involves a grape oil based massage followed by a barrel bath with vino leaves and rose petals to look and feel relaxed and renewed. The best part: you can tag your little one along for some pampering too. On offer are Baby Spa rituals that are adapted to the specificities of children and toddles.
