Kohler Bold Design Awards: The Categories

The Kohler Bold Design Awards have been envisioned with one simple credo – to decorate the innovative and the inspirational, the simple and the superlative. We are calling out entries for sterling designs and stellar talents across categories –The Extraordinaries, The Visionaries, Master Patron and Lifetime Achievement. Below are the details of the various sections:

THE VISIONARIES

This category recognises the movers and shakers who are shaping India’s infrastructure and are the creative stimulus of interior design (either completed projects and/or projects on paper).

Rebuild & Revive

Thoughtfully transformed spaces for either public or private use that were once abandoned structures.

Community Harmony

Establishments that harmonise design and philanthropy: Finished, functional and practical projects of public infrastructure like community toilets, parks, museums, bus stops, railways stations, etc.

The Big Idea

Professionals to submit their dream concepts/projects on paper, which were created by them earlier but were not executed and deserve implementation.

Bold Luxury

Home projects (interior and exterior) that take the idea of luxury and sophisticated living to stately heights.

THE EXTRAORDINARIES

To applaud those who are revitalising the design world with their sharp acumen and completed projects or concepts supported by excellent interior and/or exterior

Commercial

Mavens who can infatuate with exceptionally designed office spaces, malls etc.

Residential

Apartments, villas, farmhouses and holiday homes that lull you with decadent living.

Retail

Extraordinary stores, spas and salons that help de-stress in a super luxurious ambience.

Hospitality

Luxury hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars reflective of modern interiors and enhanced with exquisite details.

Public Institution

Schools, clubs, auditoriums etc. that redefine conventional design with modern upgradation.

MASTER PATRON

This category is for professionals who want to reward their equally creative clients. These are the projects that were fulfilled because the client gave the architect the freedom and the liberty to complete it. They were essentially, dream clients

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT

This category recognises, accolades and applaudes a noteworthy personality from the architecture and design community. Someone who is a legend in the field and is known for their tireless, genius, noteworthy contributions. This Special Merit Award is presented by vote of the distinguished Jury and it is not open for public nomination.

THE REWARDS

All winners will be felicitated at a special awards ceremony, and their winning designs will also be showcased at India Design ID 2017.
