A home or an office? Inside a zen-like corporate house crafted by Intrinsic Designs, Modo Designs and Tattva Landscape

Three creative forces — Intrinsic Designs’ Shivraj Patel and Shruti Malani, MODO Designs’ Arpan Shah, and Tattva Landscapes’ Vidisha Shah crafted an ethereal corporate house in Ahmedabad for a real estate developer, designing different sections of the space respectively, from architecture to landscape. This is the place where minimalism brings tranquillity. Clean spaces make it feel serene, and the floor-to-ceiling windows with white sheers bathe the space in a sunbeam.
The neutral palette seamlessly blends indoors and outdoors. The time spent at work can cause one to be drained but this house provides an escape from a conventional workspace. Dubbed Atelier Zen, the premises encompasses 10,000 sq. ft. housing open-to-sky courtyards, conference rooms, entertainment lounge, dining area and more!
More than an office
Minimal, seamless, and pristine spaces were the primary objective, which would be in synchrony with the structure and scenery of the courtyard. The brief was in fact simple and practical, that the space had to be more than an office.
The corporate house is not conventional but innovative with underlining hints of mystique. There is an equilibrium between functionality and an aesthetic appeal, with the main theme of the corporate house revolving around Zen philosophy.
The tones of nature and zen
Featuring a VIP lounge, owners’ cabins, conference rooms, resting space, meeting rooms, prayer rooms, and an entertainment lounge, the corporate house reveals a majestic double-height space, where the refined and minimalistic reception sits. “The owner’s cabin adjacent to it is the largest cabin in the entire office. It has full height glass windows on two sides and a captivating exposed concrete wall forming the backdrop for the head table,” reveals Shivraj Patel of Intrinsic Designs.
The table is defined with its large, beautiful raw copper-coloured stone drapery, and a concrete wall as its canvas in the back. The corridors around the courtyard are filled with greenery. The U-shaped table fosters seamless conversations. The magnificent staircase leads up to the first floor, decked up in leather-finished kota stone with unique, alternating smaller wooden steps, captivatingly teamed up with a threadwork art by Rutva Joshi.
The primary tones of white, nudes, greys, black and subtle pop of colour make the space vibrant, while the Kota stone flooring spells suitable for hot and dry climates and cools the space. There is a balance between the architecture and landscape which ensures the perfect blend of both.
Experimental design is the key
“The space we enjoyed designing the most was the three owner’s cabins. The cabins are all overlooking the gardens outside as well as the inner courtyard. These cabins are private spaces that had different requirements according to the different owner’s work and taste. It was a joy to adhere to the differences while following the same design language as the rest of the spaces,” says Shivraj. The thoughtful experimenting with materials, furniture additions and colour scheme thus supervened into an overall composition, bringing the fusion of efficiency and visuals alive.
