This carefully designed 1,900 sq ft home, created by Subhashree and Sriranjani of Uncut Design Lab skillfully combine Kerala’s enduring beauty with modern elegance.

The apartment’s spatial story unfolds through intentionally preserved aspects of the original layout, where marble floors serve as a sophisticated backdrop for the designers’ vision. The essence of Kerala is embodied in a mix of elaborate woodwork, spacious grey oxide surfaces and traditional laterite brick cladding, while vibrant indoor gardens showcase the state’s renowned terrains.

Clever storage solutions appear in flush-to-wall niches, elegantly displaying treasured collectibles. The choice of furniture remains intentional, centered around a reimagined wooden swing and enhanced by sophisticated metallic details. 

The informal lounge, which also serves as a sacred mandir space, exudes comfort with its wooden canopy and oxide-finished walls.

The kids’ bedroom strikes a refined balance between grey tones and teal highlights, while the master bedroom reveals itself as a tropical retreat featuring rustic rafters and laterite brick walls. Every area conveys its own narrative while adhering to the overall theme.

Samruddhi is a prime example of cultural translation, where Kerala’s essence is artistically represented through a contemporary design language. It is a residence where each material and every carefully positioned finish brims with culture.
