In the world of contemporary textiles, Venjara Carpets remains one of India’s most compelling custodians of woven heritage. With roots stretching back to 1961 — and philosophically to the grand Mughal weaving ateliers — the brand continues to honour time-honed craft while expanding the creative boundaries of what a carpet can be. Today, Venjara presents its latest showcase, an immersive spatial experience designed by Aishaa Nensey and Three Entertainment. Guided by their intuitive, material-sensitive approach, the showcase unfolds across four evocative zones, each expressing a different chapter in Venjara’s design evolution.
A heritage woven into time
The journey opens with a poetic homage to the brand’s origins. Here, Venjara revisits the early decades of hand-knotting, a craft revived in post-Independence India, and elevates it into a visceral experience. A sweeping river of red carpets flows across floors and walls, converting textiles into architectural contours. Persian-inspired motifs appear in playful reinterpretations: a blooming rose rendered in intricate knots, an ice-cream cone transformed into tactile art and a whimsical mirror framed in a woven texture. This zone embodies Venjara’s ethos: revere heritage, but reimagine it with lightness, joy and creative daring.
