We envisioned an elegant retreat that would respond closely to the intimate and social lifestyles of its residents. The generous influx of daylight and the ease of movement allow one to feel grounded within the apartment’s expansive blueprint,” she avers.

Sumati’s vision makes this possible, backed by an intricate blend of elements and changes within. “Early conversations helped us shape the vision: a home which would host contemporary design, opulence, and pragmatic interventions. Clean lines, bespoke finishes, and reimagined spatial layouts define the residence’s experience. The design intent focuses on elevating every detail to offer the family a living experience that feels curated yet sincerely familiar,” the architect highlights.

INHABITING LUXURY

For the resident family, hosting is nothing short of an art form. The living area is imagined as a node, its edges melting into the dining and lounge spaces, anchoring both congregations and conversations. Helmed by a sumptuous material palette, a sea of neutrals, and layered lighting, the space is a luxe haven. Deep wood tones, tan accents, and luminous stretches of natural stone bookmark the dining space’s presence, its views oriented to celebrate the veil of greens resting within the home’s immediate line of sight. 

The lounge sits moored off the apartment’s fused core, posing as the beating heart that the family members gravitate towards. A splattering of collectables and artworks blurs the lines between conventional formality and intrigue, creating a space that alternately fuels banter and reflection. The scallop-detailed bar fascia becomes the room’s muse — a sculptural nucleus serving both living and lounge spaces.

COHESION AND COMFORT

A consistent design language bound by restraint, modern expression, and raw materiality flows through each bedroom, but the rhythm is unmistakable. A gradient of wood varieties, textured wall finishes, and plush textiles mark their presence, creating spaces that feel like sanctuaries. 

For the bedrooms at Elite 402, the clients had a clear preference. “Each room incorporates efficient storage solutions integrated into the design. We ensured that the space’s efficiency and aesthetic never competed. They have been placed on equal footing,” the Architect elaborates. 

DREAMING UP HAVENS

The master bedroom explores luxury through the lens of materiality. The room’s ombré backdrop scripts a serene milieu while the herringbone floors come steeped in warmth. A study nook perches in the corner, positioned just right to visually take in the room’s canvas. The desk’s curved form and deep wood tones complement the space’s gravitas, fusing productivity and calm under one roof. Dedicated his-and-hers dressing areas speak to considered personalisation, weaving indulgence into pragmatic spaces.

Soft pastel hues and playful geometric forms come uncorked in the daughter’s bedroom, a space that revels in whimsy. An arched panelling, replete with fluted sections, creates a focal vignette bathed in salmon, from which its bow-form headboard emerges. The millwork fosters visual harmony through its composition of arched sections and a seating niche that discreetly conceals the young inhabitant’s essentials.

TIMELESSNESS PREVAILS

Something about the Architect’s design intent reveals a wholesome truth: true luxury does not reside in sprawling homes alone, nor in the precious, rare objects that fill them. It lives and breathes in the details that make one feel considered — in the way spaces accommodate mundane routines, in personal gestures, and in those elements that let you be wholly yourself even as every comfort lies at your fingertips. “The result is a home that feels distinctive and like their own. This endeavour reflects the trust the family put in our efforts,” reflects Sumati.
