The sabai grass-made cabinet transports you to northeast India’s bamboo cottages and huts. æquō Gallery in collaboration with Estudio Campana crafted the Atuxuá cabinet as a tribute to Indian and Brazilian craftsmanship and spiritual rituals of the countries’ use of sabai grass. The meticulously handmade, crafted-to-perfection cabinet is a statement piece worthy of caving for.

Grinza Armchair by Fernando and Humberto Campana is a must-have if you are looking for furniture resonating with natural rock formations and roots of gigantic trees that check the box for cave aesthetics. The texture is the highlight, with ecological fur bringing the raw primitive outdoors and animal instincts to the design. The casual cover finish of the armchair deliberately flows inspired by nature.

Like a souvenir from the Stone Age, this pure, natural brass sculpture by Scarlet Splendour is a conversation starter. Rooted in purpose the piece focuses on functionality while still being aesthetically pleasing. The bookshelf can also perfectly adorn your fossil and bone collection, cavemen!

Made from semi-precious stones the Big Feet stone table has a primally rooted aura. One can imagine the ancestors using simple functional designs like these and opting for the ease of access when it came to daily life designs. The Big Feet table is a minimally rooted in-nature design addition for your den.

Who needs fire to illuminate caves when one has DBEL Studio’s Solitude Marble floor lamp? Part of the studio’s Rahnumma collection, the design evolves from the idea of solitude rooted in finding balance and calm. Made out of Marble and fibre-reinforced plastic, the 7 asymmetrical white rocks balance the vase-like structure holding the light source delicately —  much like life imperfect yet balanced.

A masterpiece carved out of Rainbow Onyx marble, Nudo interlocking chair by Kelly Wearstler studio in collaboration with ARCA is a work of art. Carved and finished to resonate with a loop created while weaving, the interlocking design and stone finish teleports your haven to the Stone Age. Who could have thought sofa designs with stone finishing could ooze such comfort? The rainbow onyx sofa strikes a balance between design and technology.

Be it primal instincts or emotions, homes rooted in cave/den aesthetics must reflect such important stories. Silent Echoes by Jaipur Rugs is a collection of hand-knotted rugs created using Wool, Silk and Tencel with each material and knot narrating a story evolving from human conscience. Primal emotions like guilt, shame, and humour, were at the heart of designing the collection. The rug accentuates a space with many textures and patterns, a solid metaphor for human evolution.

Bring the iconic Stonehenge landscape home, with this hand-stained leather console by Atelier Bobby Aggarwal. The design adorns strokes on black leather inspired by and reflecting tribal ritual-imbibed art and carvings in the primitive eras. Leather is a unique addition to a console but the hand-stitched detail replicates harsh and rough carved stone and is difficult to achieve.

Reminding of the eerily beautiful rock formations within caves, the mystic Table I from Scarlet Splendour’s unrealism collection is a true collector’s edition luxury furniture. Crafted out of natural pure brass with gradients and textures adding drama to the piece, the table seems as though it were forged out of fire. A truly groundbreaking design indeed.

Inspired by natural rock formations and geological wonders, this unit by Wriver takes the most from its name. The unit looks like a monolithic rock formation that survived years of natural corrosion to come to this beautifully functional piece. Made from Mosaico pesta and ceramic the unit has remarkable stone-like textural finishing.

Inspired by the Spanish city of Segovia in its medieval decades, the console is a tribute to the region’s natural beauty rooted in its mountains and rivers. With wood reflecting sturdy yet asymmetrical hilly terrains and glass representing the aqueducts, the stainless steel binds the elements together in functionality. 

Designed by Snarkitecture for Gufram in collaboration with Gallery All, the Broken Mirror series is an installation that will rock your world. The Polyurethane frame creates textures like cave rock with a crack opening to the outer world but in reality, reflects the interiors. The duality of design adds a raw element to the space. Designers at Gufram view the series as a metaphysical door — a portal to the inner and outer worlds.
