Portside Cafe’s Colaba Bar Table is an ode to the city of Mumbai after dark. Its circular top gleams in gold, etched with delicate lines that trace the roads leading to Colaba’s iconic bars. Below, the deep black body is adorned with gold leaf–like accents, as if the city’s lights have scattered themselves across its surface: a shimmer of windows, headlights and late-night shenanigans. There’s a Klimt-like richness to the palette fostered by gold in varying opacities, applied with an essence of nostalgia.
