Madrid’s Las Rozas Village celebrates 25 years through natural fibres

Las Rozas Village commemorates its 25th anniversary with the final chapter of Mano a Mano

Madrid does not come alive only to the roar of a stadium. Beyond football’s charged energy lies a quieter winter rhythm, one shaped by craft and celebration. This season, Las Rozas Village invites visitors into that rhythm as it marks its 25th anniversary with a Christmas rooted in handmade tradition. Part of The Bicester Collection, the open-air village becomes a place where strolling, shopping and seasonal ritual unfold at an unhurried pace.

Lined with more than 100 boutiques along pedestrian boulevards, Las Rozas Village transforms into a sheltered festive escape during the colder months. Thousands of warm lights trace its architecture, while cafés and restaurants offer moments of pause between discoveries. What emerges is not simply a shopping destination, but a winter experience shaped by atmosphere and intention.

A celebration marked by craftsmanship

This Christmas also marks the conclusion of Mano a Mano, the long-running artisanal initiative created to celebrate contemporary craftsmanship. Following chapters dedicated to Ceramics and Textiles, Natural Fibres forms the final instalment, turning the spotlight on materials drawn from nature and shaped by hand

Running from 14 November to 7 January, the Village is transformed through handcrafted, sustainable decorations that reinterpret festive traditions. At the entrance, a Christmas tree created by Berta Bucam and Cocol, made entirely from natural and biodegradable materials, stands as a statement of conscious celebration. Inside the Village, Gabriela Sagarminaga presents sculptural works in esparto and rattan within the Glass House, exploring the expressive potential of vegetal fibre through form and movement. Raúl del Chano’s installations appear across shop windows and another Glass House, where woven globes and suspended natural elements evoke winter landscapes with warmth and symbolism.

The festive programme extends beyond installations. New store openings, including Nude Project, Birkenstock and Eme Studios, add to the contemporary mix, while an artisanal market across December weekends introduces visitors to unique, handmade pieces. Seasonal rituals continue with an Advent calendar offering daily prizes, Montblanc Christmas postcards and winter comforts such as hot consommé, chocolate with churros and Cristina Oria’s Roscón de Reyes.

A promising gift

Extending the celebration beyond the Village, La Rozas Village has partnered with The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid, to introduce the Experience Box, a personalised luxury offering designed for hotel guests. Delivered directly to the room, the Experience Box includes a refined cardholder with a QR code that unlocks a curated menu of bespoke experiences, seamlessly linking hospitality and shopping.

The experience begins with a private transfer from the hotel to La Rozas Village, followed by a welcome at The Apartment, the Village’s private lounge for exclusive clients. Guests enjoy champagne or wine, a Spanish ham tasting and a complimentary drink before a two-hour personal shopping session guided by expert stylists. Fast Pass access to boutiques, reserved parking and hands-free shopping ensure ease throughout the visit, with all purchases delivered directly back to the hotel room. Select purchases also allow guests to accumulate frequent flyer miles with leading international airlines.

The Experience Box can be booked through The Palace Hotel concierge, via the hotel’s website, the Las Rozas Village platform or as part of the “Stay 4 Nights, Pay 3” offer on Marriott International, with reservations recommended at least 24 hours in advance

Twenty-five years on, La Rozas Village celebrates Christmas not as a spectacle, but as an atmosphere shaped by craft, light and thoughtful detail. From handmade installations to curated hospitality, the season unfolds as a quiet yet memorable milestone.

If Spain’s Bicester Collection isn’t on your festive itinerary, the magic stretches far beyond. From Paris and Dublin to Milan and Munich, each village celebrates the season as an experience. London leans into a Storybook Christmas, bringing live music and Santa’s sleigh photobooth to life, while La Roca Village in Barcelona, themed So Much More Than Gifting, becomes a festive exhibition through artist Lara Costafreda’s artistic facades. Meanwhile, Fidenza Village sweetens the season with new launches, from Givenchy to Jo Malone, reaffirming that here, holiday shopping is never just about your shopping list.
