The global design icon hosted a panel discussion in Bengaluru, discussing its lasting contemporary legacy

Global design icon Knoll, bringing its design philosophy to India, hosted a panel in Bengaluru, encouraging an exchange of ideas. The panel discussion titled Total Design: The Enduring Legacy of Knoll in Contemporary Spaces celebrated Knoll’s lasting influence on modern interiors and was moderated by Mrudul Pathak Kundu, Editor of ELLE Decor India.

Esteemed panellists Asha Kushalappa of DWP Interics, Vijaya Bhargav of Ostraca, Jaime Daza of Gensler and Alexandra Ramundi of MillerKnoll reflected on how Knoll’s legacy intertwines with India’s contemporary design landscape.

150 attendees from leading design firms mingled at the event while surrounded by striking pieces of iconic modern furniture, echoing the DNA of Knoll’s designs – refined and intentional. The Barcelona Chair, Bertoia Diamond Chair, Tulip Chair and Womb Chair are just a few amongst the attendees. Each presented thoughtfully with its history and design story invited onlookers to admire and engage with living testaments to design that transcends time.

“Knoll’s heritage has always been about creating spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful,” avers Praveen Muppidi, Senior Regional Sales Director at MillerKnoll. In India, where workplaces are rapidly evolving, these principles are more relevant than ever. The panel reflected on Florence Knoll’s groundbreaking Total Design philosophy that transformed spaces with a holistic human-centric design.

India’s design language sits in a sweet spot that resonates with that of Knoll –  a dedication towards craftsmanship and sustainability that maintains the appeal of a modern edge. And by evening’s end, the gathering hosted at Workplace Solutions Sabha in Bengaluru reaffirmed Knoll’s enduring motto: design is intentional, authentic and deeply human.
