‘Collectible’, a word that once simply denoted an object worth acquiring, has, over time, accrued a distinct cultural and market gravitas. In contemporary design discourse, it no longer implies rarity alone, but authorship, intent and enduring value. Collectible design today stands as a defining force within the global design economy, shaping both the market’s trajectory and the sensibilities of a new generation of collectors. It is this decisive shift within India’s evolving design ecosystem that prompted the inception of ID Salon, an initiative by Ogaan Media. Conceived as a focused platform for collectible design, ID Salon convenes a select roster of international galleries presenting works by leading designers and studios from across the world.

The debut edition, a first-of-its-kind showcase, opens on 19 February and is on view until 22 February 2026 at Bikaner House, the storied cultural landmark near India Gate in Delhi. “The thought behind ID Salon as a platform was to build a sharper language for collecting design in India, grounded in craft, driven by contemporary authorship, and presented with global rigour. ID Salon is a market-making platform for collectible design in India,” says Misha Bains, Curator & Fair Director at India Design ID & ID Salon. Structured within a thoughtfully conceived programme, the fair brings together galleries and participants aligned by a shared vocabulary of excellence, experimentation and discernment.

Æquo

Rooted in savoir-faire and material intelligence, Æquo operates at the precise intersection where design intention meets mastery. Based in Mumbai’s historic Colaba precinct, the gallery collaborates with craft-led designers and master artisans at the point where making truly unfolds privileged agency over hierarchy. Conceived by Tarini Jindal Handa and Florence Louisy, Æquo is driven by rigorous research, dialogue and a deep exploration of materiality. Its programme foregrounds bespoke furniture, sculptural works, and collectible objects created by international designers in close collaboration with Indian ateliers. By extending conversations on design intent and craft knowledge beyond geographic borders, Æquo repositions Indian craftsmanship within a global collectible design discourse. At ID Salon, the gallery will present a tightly curated selection of limited-edition works that reflect its ongoing inquiry into form, process and the evolving language of contemporary craft.
