Pavitra Rajaram Design’s tasteful artefacts

Lose yourself in a curated ecosystem of colours set against warm wooden tones in this Mumbai home. The space features an eight-seater wooden table paired with rattan chairs, marked by a simple but striking intervention in an otherwise eclectic home designed by Pavitra Rajaram. Shelves bursting with books line a wall in the dining area, bright, colourful carpets engulf you as you make your way to art objects that dot the room, giving it a vibrant burst of energy in a space filled with character. It’s a space rich in personality — layered, lived-in and full of stories waiting to be told.

Like a meal constitutes different flavours, this dining space is also made up of varying layers of heirloom pieces. This dining space in a Goa villa by Eshita Marwah of e & co. doesn’t adhere to any rules — an amalgamation made of an antique chandelier and vintage rugs that ground the space, while a mix of upholstery makes the chairs unique and different yet connected. A taste of Chettinad by Sonali & Sidharth Lodha Architecture

Elaborate woodwork, local materials and vibrant Athangudi tiles are Chettinad-inspired details, which often blend Indian and colonial influences, in a Chennai home seeped in heritage. The rustic charm of this space stems from its brickwork, which complements the wooden tones. A table rests gracefully atop Kota stone flooring, accented with intricate Athangudi tile inlays. Designed by Sonali and Siddharth Lodha of their eponymous firm, the space embodies organic elements, complemented by textures that pay homage to the culture it is inspired by.

MS Design Studio invites you to dine in grandeur

Dine under a grand chandelier and large tropical artwork as the air fills up with the scent of food and conversations in a Vadodara home designed by Ayushi Lahothy of MS Design Studio. The dining room’s double height makes the room feel more open. A white marble countertop sits on a fluted wooden base, while the accompanying soft-pastel modern chairs bring a pop of colour. The space is separated but not closed off by an art partition that is a symmetry of botanical pivotal brass plates, truly giving you a glorious dining experience.

Turn back time with Aditi Sharma Design Studio

Food is more fun when you’re dining in a space that’s straight out of a period drama. A modern setting with vintage flair, this Mussoorie home is designed by Aditi Sharma of her eponymous firm. The tabletop uses a leather-finish granite, which is balanced with a rustic white vintage chair. The colonial-style home’s features shine through the dining space with vintage plates that adorn the wall and ornate rustic chandeliers hanging from the rattan-clad ceiling, transporting you to another era.

Aayushi Malik Designs serves food with conversation

A dining area to feature your most prized possessions? Every collector’s ideal conversation starter. A Buddha painting anchors the space while other artwork uses a mix of brass and wooden framing borders against a neutral wall. Designed by Aayushi Malik of her eponymous firm, the flooring comprises restored old tiles that have maintained their charm in this Gurugram home. At the heart of it, the dining table is crafted from a single solid slab of oak wood, which gives the space a grounded quality, making the space a tasteful mix of tropical warmth, meditative calm and traditional essence from the artwork.

Any meal can be special when it’s made with thoughtful intentions, and this dining space understands that. The homeowners envisioned a room with a personality that truly reflects this home by Drishty Vaswani and Sidharth Khanna of SAND. The vibrant chairs immediately catch your attention with details of a floral fabric graced with birds, adding a layer of tropicalness to the space. A dash of pebble-shaped mirrors and a sprinkle of plants make you feel like the space is embracing you in nature’s arms.

A modern dining space gives a taste of heritage through its furnishings. Designed by Gowri Adappa of her eponymous firm, the space assembles a multitude of curios to shape up a dining area where there’s always something to gaze at.. Bold yellow head chairs immediately catch your eye and are matched with warm wooden French dining chairs. Overhead, a haveli chandelier hangs over indigo matkas that adorn the space, helping the space acknowledge the homeowner’s affinity towards art, serving an experience in the dining room of a Chennai home.

There is beauty in balance and luxury in the details at Summer Opera, a home designed by Gautam Shewa. Here, design and culture flow together as seamlessly as conversations around the dining table.
