Understated Elegance: Latest offerings from Natuzzi Italia

JUN 24, 2016 | By Raisa Tolia with inputs from Pramiti Madhavji
Internationally acclaimed brand Natuzzi Italia was back at this year’s Milan’s Salone del Mobile with a gorgeous new collection replete with 20 models including sofas, beds, tables and chairs for the living, bedroom and dining areas. Additionally, the brand also showcased various accessories such as lamps, tables, coffee tables, rugs and vases. Natuzzi Italia executed its new range by taking cue from the concept of harmony, wherein they seek to bring accordance between objects and people thus making them “harmony makers”. Borrowing from their over 50 years of experience with leather craftsmanship, they have used 15 different types of leather available in 93 colours for the collection. However, the main colours of the line are white, brown and taupe.
This new family also includes a number of collaborations with designers like Maurizio Manzoni and Roberto Tapinassi of Studio Memo, Victor Vasilev, Claudio Bellini, Mauro Lipparini and Bernhardt & Vella. All the designers worked closely with Natuzzi’s Stylist, Chairman and Founder Pasquale Natuzzi and the Natuzzi Style Centre to develop the pieces. Some of our favourites include the Leggero dining set designed by Victor Vasilev that pays homage to Gio Ponti, the master architect and industrial designer and the Academia cupboard by designer duo Bernhardt & Vella.
Speaking on the future of the brand, Pasquale Junior Natuzzi the Communication Director said, “Our aim is to become the biggest consumer brand in the world of interior design. We also plan to expand into retail and that’s something no other brand is doing.”
