This Is India pavilion at London Design Week is a must-see for design lovers

SEP 6, 2016 | By Raisa Tolia
It’s nice to see the world take notice of contemporary Indian artists and designers. This year’s London Design Fair is providing a unique platform for some deserving talent through its new guest country pavilion This Is India, curated by Spandana Gopal of Tiipoi, a London based design studio and styled by Kangan Arora, a specialist in prints.
To celebrate the event’s tenth anniversary, the exhibit aims to create global awareness of native skills. “There has been a rapid growth in the number of internationally relevant design studios from India in the last 18 months. Also, subsequent to our decision, the UK government just announced 2017, UK-India Year of Culture,” says Jimmy MacDonald, the fair’s Founder and Director on why they chose India to debut this space.
This exhibition, supported by e-commerce retailer Indelust and ELLE DECOR India’s annual style event India Design ID, will host textile makers Injiri, Leah Singh and Safomasi, sculptor Aman Khanna  of Claymen, industrial studio Taamaa and product design studio Objectry to name a few.
When: Sept 22-25, 2016
