The Park ELLE DECOR Student Contest 2017: And the winners are…

In its fifth edition, The Park ELLE DECOR Student Contest lauded four burgeoning designers across various product design categories in a gala ceremony at India Design ID 2017. The annual competition aims to promote young designers in the country and give them a platform to display their works.
Judged by Priya Paul, Chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels and Pramiti Madhavji, Editorial and Content Director, ELLE DECOR India & Ogaan Media, the winners also get a special showcase for their creations at India’s definitive design event.
Here’s a roundup of the 2017 winners.
Furniture (winner): Harjot Singh
Harjot from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad created the Concrete Jungle seater. This beautiful, weather resistant bench made from upcycled materials.
Lighting (winner): Radhika Sarraf
Radhika of NID, Ahmedabad envisioned the winning light fixture Uno, which is inspired by a paper clip. The contemporary illuminator is fabricated using brass and acrylic.
Fabric (winner): Vidya Rani
Vidya who is also from NID, Ahmedabad imagined Foliole Melody, an art textile. It is a fabric composition derived from dye penetration of natural petals of flowers and leaves.
Accessories (winner): Medha Gupta
Sera is the winning product under this category realised by Medha from NID, Ahmedabad. This wine bottle and glass holder is hand crafted from a single stem of bamboo.
