They say home is not a place, it’s a feeling. But this home, envisioned by Vimal Kukreja, principal and co-founder of Edifice Genus Infra, stands as a manifestation of that very emotion. The Fusion Abode, a 2,000 sq ft home in New Delhi, imbibes the personalities of its residents — Aman Pant, a renowned music director and Deepti Sharma, an artist and co-owner of Chirping Birds Studios.

Forming a stunning coalescence of sophisticated artistry and futuristic design, the home is bespoke and filled with character. The bold design elements, intricate craftsmanship and artistic personalisation create an eclectic composition.

Dip in drama

Reinventing classical designs and materials into contemporary elements is at the core of this home’s interiors. From the checkerboard floor tiles of the living room to the hand-painted artwork and statement light fixtures, the space is intended to be a visual feast.

Creating a warm and comforting atmosphere, the bold hues are paired with upholstery that is sleek and luxurious. The kitchen as well as the dining space infuse warmth into the ambience with wooden and muted tones. The custom-crafted sculptural dining table is balanced with the soft shaded upholstery of the chairs.

Bold, open and inviting

A spacious haven, the home advocates an open plan in order to create an inviting environment without compromising the dramatic aesthetics. Transforming the kitchen into an open space from an enclosed and isolated space brought an abundance of natural light.

Incorporating a classical partition adorned with intricate patterns becomes an interesting way to create a sense of division without compromising on openness. The large windows flood the space with natural light during the daytime.

Every aspect of the home tells a story — Deepti’s artistic masterworks, striking finishes and materials, neutral and muted additions and curated furniture. The home embodies the dynamic spirit of its residents.
