Sixinch India at India Design ID 2016: Stories from the show

MAR 8, 2016 | By Jaina Chandwany

Sixinch Design, a global brand founded by Pieter Jamart and Michel Sels, is known for collaborating with international designers to create high-end foam coated furniture. The label recently entered the country with Sixinch India, owned by Delhi based Directors Namrata Seth and Gagan Deep Bhatia. We chatted with Namrata who shared her thoughts on the brand’s participation at the India’s definitive design event.
Their collection “We exhibited what we call our Sixinch Collection, developed by our headquarters in Belgium over the years along with international designers. We displayed about 70 percent of the range presently available in India. We also showcased customised furniture pieces to give customers an idea of how they can use this technology to create their own designs.”

“As a new brand in the country, India Design ID gives us exposure and a chance to connect with so many people in one go. The footfalls were great and we met a lot of people from the design and architecture communities as well. It also gave us a wide range of feedback that helped us strategise further.”
Their experience“We received tonnes of appreciation for the uniqueness of our brand. People thought these were the most innovative, coolest furniture pieces they had ever seen. Their feedback further enhanced when they sat on our furniture and found it surprisingly comfortable. Being an interactive brand, we intended to keep our stall design such whereby there was a direct connect with the consumers and products.”
What they loved“We thought it was very well organised. The whole energy and vibe of the entire place was amazing.”
Next year at India Design ID“Hopefully a bigger booth and more interesting experiences!”
