Sink and Swim: A fixed bath in your private oasis

OCT 20, 2015 | By Jaina Chandwany
A sunken shower and bathtub sealed within walls of glass is a clever and luxurious idea – plus a great space saver too. Floor to ceiling windows and blinds ensure ventilation and a sneak peek at the lush (and private) outdoors

Yearning for a stay-cation? Book one at a bath inspired by this sharp, contemporary fuss-free enclave, designed for a Richard Neutra inspired hideaway in Alibaug, designed by Shafali Chowdhrie Diwanji of Studio SCD.
Consider a warm palette of pastels in tones of sky blue, mellow brown and ash grey to cast a soft heaven-like calmness. For an understated goodness of texture, marry natural materials together – the use of Indian marble for the walls, flamed granite tiles for the flooring, wood for storage and silver brass for faucets and towel rails impel a classy clean look.

Finish off with a stark white countertop and cane storage baskets to hide away used bath linen. Also read: All the essentials you need for the perfect black and white themed bath
