Behind every door is a vision, with rooms of possibilities and ideas. An idea situates itself in the corners of the work we do, with a result that mirrors our personality. We open this door through an office designed inside One Place Lodha, Lower Parel, as a 675 sq ft space that echoes the works done by Shahen Mistry Architects.

And as Shahen Mistry, founder and principal architect of the eponymous firm shares, “We designed an office that seamlessly blends elegant and quaint interiors, maintaining a sophisticated atmosphere while preserving a homely charm. The careful selection of decor and furnishings creates an ambiance that is not only visually pleasing but also fosters a warm and inviting environment, making it a unique and comfortable workspace.”

Challenging the Monday blues

As one enters, a royal blue door contrasts the palette of beiges and browns that enclose the whole space. Giving a continuous flow to the door, an accent wall rests as a backdrop to the vintage Bombay paintings that set the tone for further exploration.

Like a canvas to fill colours in, this office stands as a sanctuary for unwinding your thoughts, delivering a sense of solace. A visual narrative builds up as you walk in, further touring the office. With hardwood floorings, wallpapers that feel like a British office, and furniture that mirrors the essence of vintage pieces, grace the space.

The second home (quite literally)

With a striking balance of a homely touch and an exquisite royal touch, the office creates a space that blends into a subtle combination of both. The glass cabins being a portal that take you back to the British era and a rather mellow corner that channels your creative side, this space stands as the foundation of artistic vision. As one explores further, the cloistered conference room rests in the corner for a day of meetings and important discussions. While the pantry awaits a room of hearty discussions with the aroma of home-cooked food from dabbas opened in lunch breaks.

And as he shares, “The goal is to create a space that not only exudes opulence and sophistication but also envelops occupants in a warm, homely embrace. This design approach seeks to elevate the workspace, making it a place where individuals can thrive amidst an ambiance that seamlessly fuses the allure of luxury with the familiar comforts of home.”

Amidst the London hues

The hues in this office whisper the language of sophisticated colour, a blend of contrasting colours with a spectrum of browns and beiges that drape each corner to create a perfect balance. From warm wood shades favouring the bookshelves and furniture pieces to the walls adorned with English-style wallpapers, the space ignites a sense of plush comfort. He concludes the space, “ Ultimately, our goal is to craft environments that not only meet the requirements but also inspire and enhance the human experience within those spaces.”
