A luxury dining experience is all about sumptuous dishes, soft music and striking tableware. Rajat Singhi, the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Address Home, plays his part by creating stunning dinnerware collections from the brand. He takes us behind the making – from conceptualization to the finished product. The Journey of CreationRajat’s inspiration comes from his travels, and the designs he visualizes are then translated into digital sketches. After sizing the sketches, the team works on colour separation, a process that involves identifying spot colours to be printed separately, on silk screens.Screening ExcellenceSilkscreen printing is a technique where meshes act as stencils for colours to fall through onto a customized adhesive paper. This process is repeated for each colour, until the paper is a version of the design Rajat had visualized.DecorationOnce all the colors are printed, the paper is coated with a plastic layer called the cover coat or lacquer. The cover coat is allowed to dry overnight, transforming into a decal that can be placed onto any porcelain set.Firing up the CreationsA round of firing takes place after that – all your dinner plates and cups are placed inside an 800 degree Celsius furnace, to fuse the colours with the glaze, permanently. The Exquisite CollectionsFinally, rows of intricately handcrafted collections come to life, and onto your dinner table. Some of Rajat Singhi’s top picks are:

– The Nizam collection, which has a majestic aura with regal jewels of the Nizam of Hyderabad etched on the surface of premium porcelain.

– The Taj dinner collection capturing the essence of the Taj Mahal, painted in gold.

– He couldn’t choose between his Persian-inspired collections: Antalya’s teal and faint azure competes with the Aurum dinner set collection’s metallic gold and the Mersin collection.

– Miran is the newest launch: Inspired by Southeast Asia, the collection’s tones of mint green easily accompany the serene Tranquil collection, taking cues from the lotus. Find them on their website. Website: www.addresshome.com
