Odyssey Stone at India Design ID 2016: Stories from the show

MAR 2, 2016 | By Aditi Gaitonde

New Delhi based Odyssey Stone taps into the potential of various natural stones to innovate design and architectural elements. Their repertoire includes wall coverings, furniture, wash basins, planters, sculptures and more. We chatted with Ruchika Grover, Director, Business Development and Design Development, who told us all about her experience at India Design ID 2016.
Their collection
“We launched the Aqueous Collection which is our first foray into sculptural walls. The range was inspired by water, corals and everything aqueous. It is meant to be used on all vertical (and at times horizontal) surfaces as a canvas to create larger than life art installations inside or outside. We used very thick stone to make this collection that is more architectural than design centric.”
Exhibiting at India Design ID 2016
“Besides using ID as a platform to showcase our innovations and products, it is also a great platform to reconnect with everyone from the industry and discuss possible collaborations. Our product is relatively offbeat and over the years we have been able to create a greater acceptance of stone.”
Their experience
“Most visitors could not believe that our product was natural stone. They had to touch and feel the product for them to accept it.”
What they loved
“I thoroughly enjoyed Tom Dixon’s talk at ID Symposium. He is a fine entrepreneur who has been able to balance design and business very effectively.”
New year at India Design ID
“I intend to have larger installations next year!”
