Tactile wonders: Nexion’s RIGA presents concrete-like sintered surfaces inlaid with man-made textures

FEB 12, 2025 | By Team ELLE DECOR India

Concrete is a versatile material. Capable of being shaped into any form and carved into beautiful spaces, it possesses a vast structural bandwidth. In a concentrated effort to elevate a space’s tactile experience, RIGA by Nexion utilises laser micro-carving technology to recreate man-made patterns left behind by craftsmen working with concrete.

Their canvas of choice? Large ceramic surfaces, sporting recurring patterns imbued with a visually striking interplay of texture and light.

A clever wordplay lies behind the concept’s name. While RIGA translates to line in Italian, it is also an acronym for Research and Inspiration from Graphic and Architecture. It aligns with their aim to share a novel interpretation of concrete amidst the world of architecture.

Four distinct iterations of their approach emerge — Rigato, Striato, Quadri and Planum. Available in six different colours, these variations create distinct interplays of structures and light, capable of elevating any space with their versatility.

“Quality in a space shapes daily living,” reflects Nexion’s design approach, bringing their Indo-Italian perspective to surface design. Their  sintered surfaces, crafted with precision as a part of their latest design concept RIGA, offer a fresh look at how spaces should feel and work.

Each surface pattern comes from careful study of life’s finest details, shaped by experienced designers. The result? Spaces that feel personal while keeping the highest marks for practical use.

In today’s homes and offices, where beauty must work with function, Nexion’s surfaces provide that essential balance.
