    Follow the life of an artist’s alter-ego
    Princess Pea, an anonymous artist, dons a massive pea-shaped head that contrasts her petite frame and helps her engage with her audiences on an imaginative level. Sunrise Ceremonies is an exhibition of photographic works by her that documents her everyday rituals, throwing light on themes from her childhood, challenges conventional beauty ideals, explores the concept of identity and comments on gender issues.

    Discover a new kind of museum
    Suitcase Museum by artist Dayanita Singh showcases a collection of 44 Museum of Chance book-objects. All the photographs presented can be packed away in merely two suitcases, thus expanding one’s perspective of what a museum means to viewers.

    Celebrate various kinds of creativity from India
    In an attempt to honour various art forms from across states, Tata Trusts has introduced Kalapana, a specially curated festival featuring lead performing artists and craftsmen. In its inaugural edition, they will showcase the talents of artists such as Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts (Contemporary Dance) from Bengaluru; Dhrupad Sansthan (Indian Classical Music) from Bhopal and NINASAM (Theatre) from Shimoga District in Karnataka. Heritage craft forms such as handloom weaving, embroideries, leather craft, dhokra metal, natural fiber craft and folk art will also be exhibited at the two-day event.

    View contemporary interpretations of conventional paintings
    In an effort to preserve India’s historic Pichvai art form, art aficionado Pooja Singhal created the Pichvai Tradition & Beyond atelier. Her exhibition on display at Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2016 showcased reworked forms that incorporate new modes of scale, colour, form and theme, and also making them accessible to international audiences.
