La Casa sul Lago in Lake Como rebirths royally with the new furniture collection by Baxter

Caressing breeze, mountain peaks all around, faultlessly blue skyline competing for the bluest of hues with the waters below, and stately dwellings clustered as beautiful gems, overlooking the dramatic scenes of Lake Como, Italy. La Casa sul Lago, Baxter’s villa in this precinct, is a picturesque greeting to the eyes. But what leaves a lasting impression are the interiors here — courtesy Baxter, the Italy-based brand’s new furniture collection peppered royally around the house.
Set in the 1970’s aesthetics, one witnesses a cream-coloured floor and hand painted motifs at the entry. The electric blue and cognac coloured ground floor features a similar colour striped wall and a svelte Federico Peri’s wave lamp. The Milano sofa, Greta Special Edition Printed armchair and Adel pouffes welcome one to a small living room complemented by the Nuvola lamps.
The study is embellished with an ancient fireplace adding to the old aesthetics of the property with a Parsec desk and Etienne Bergère armchair binding this room.
On crossing the studio, a wide-open space dubbed as the second living room constitutes the Libelle bookcase and the ‘Jo’ sofa by Draga&Aurel. Opposite to which are the sleek Pilar and Allure small tables with an Elli armchair by Christophe Delcourt exhibiting warmth. The dining room features a sleek Kate table by Delcourt in a Grand Antique d’Aubert marble finish along with the new Jodie chairs. The patio accommodates two tables from the Nairobi collection and little armchairs from Himba collection overlooking the lush vegetation that surrounds the villa.
On the first floor, the hallway has a striking view of the lake. It leads you to two rooms — a bedroom that showcases the new Clara bed alongside a room with Joni desk both by Christophe Delcourt and a suite which is dedicated to the Miami soft project by Paola Navone. The terrace embodies comfort, warmth and a jovial atmosphere.
The Dharma table and Linfa chairs by Studiopepe and Himba sofa by Roberto Lazzeroni invites the guest to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Como. A small nook on the terrace has the cosy Narciso armchair making a perfect space for a personal retreat. A chocolate, powder pink and green annex up the stairs is a brilliant open space which hosts a modular Juliette sofa by Delcourt and the new Isamu table with Clotilde chairs by Lazzeroni.
An aquamarine Chester Moon sofa, asucculent garden and 1970s wallpaper enrich the greenhouse. The swimming pool is the most scenic spot of the villa highlighted by the new three-seater Narciso sofa by Studiopepe under an olive tree adjacent to two Himba beach loungers. Facing the mesmerising deck is a comfortable Narciso modular sofa upholstered in Tressage Vert fabric and a Judd table making this space befitting for long unwinding sessions with nothing but the comfort of palatial and poised furniture in company.
