Into the Woods: Revel in a calming timber paradise
AUG 12, 2015 | By Jaina Chandwany
It’s never too late to honour the historian in you.
Introduce a Gandhian civility or a vintage varnish to your privy, as seen here
in architect Pradeep Sachdeva’s weekend home in the remote interiors of
Gurgaon.
Here’s how you can achieve a similar look. Choose a primarily dark timber
foundation in dual tones of brown matched with raw planks for the flooring.
Keep the detailing pat down to the tee with gold plated hooks and old time
latches or locking systems with textured patina.
A shower curtain doesn’t have to be a single partition that
you draw from one side to the other. Try this instead: A 360-degree panel in
off-white, hung on a circular rod, encasing a slightly raised bathing tray.
Break the all-wood look with brass fittings and faucets.
Lastly, use opaque linen as curtains for the windowsill for a soft glow of
light throughout.
