FEB 29, 2016 | By Aditi Gaitonde

The International Furniture Fair Singapore/33rd ASEAN Furniture Show, held in conjunction with The Decor Show and furniPRO Asia, is one of Asia’s most exciting design events. In its 33rd edition, industry professionals from over 100 countries will come together for four days to view the latest in furniture and interior trends. Here’s our list of noteworthy things you should do….1. Design stars: Explore a collection featuring products by 20 design talents from around the world. We have our eyes on Scene Shang of Singapore that bring a new appreciation for rich Asian culture by combining the best of East and West as well as India’s Sahil and Sarthak who collaborate with local artisans to weave traditional craft with contemporary culture. 2. Furniture Design Award: This special showcase will feature winning entries of the budding design talents from across the globe. Winners will be decided by a panel of industry experts a day before IFFS and will announced at the official opening ceremony.3. Global exhibitors: With exhibitors from over 27 countries displaying at one arena, the fair will include new and established players alike. We are looking forward to seeing d-Bodhi’s latest collection inspired by Piet Mondrian as well as Maori Design’s new industrial style furniture and solar lighting pieces. Also on our list is –Woven+ and their exquisite handmade furniture.

The fifth edition of SingaPlural with its theme “Senses – the art and science of experiences” offers a curated smorgasbord of design installations, talks, tours, workshops and live performances. In its fifth edition, the show aims to help visitors gain new perspectives of how design can be employed to enhance daily experiences. Here are events that we are looking forward to: 1. Project X: It is a collaborative platform where a single material of exploration is given to different artists and designers from varied fields to see the extent of its limits. 2.
