Heads up, Kolkata! Designer brands from Péro to Bandit Queen are headed your way

Handmade pieces from Péro, Ranjit Ahuja’s decorative cushions, stationery from Velvet Ribbon and a curated list of brands are being flown to Calcutta this August. The first edition of Commun India intends to have the city of Joy spoilt for choice, with products ranging from table linen and bedding to candles and clothing.

Pick up a simplistic colour scheme of white and blue, from Design Temple’s tableware and pair it with white artisan linen from Bandit Queen, for an instant home makeover. Add to cart: conversation starters in the form of quirky objects d’ art from Claymen, and you have yourself a comprehensive guide to fine living.
Handpicked by stylist Nikhil Mansata, the exhibition also includes Mansata’s mother’s brand, Anita Mansata, with a range of fine furniture. “I grew up in a home that my mother designed, and I’ve been exposed to her creativity my whole life,” he says.
The exhibition will be held on August 22, 2017 (from 2pm- 8pm), and will go on till August 24, 2017 (11am- 8pm).
