Gaurav Gupta and Klove Studio just created the wildest couture collaboration
JUL 31, 2017 | By Reecha Kulkarni
It’s not often than you’re driven to distraction in a Gaurav Gupta couture show, but Prateek Jain and Gautam Seth of Klove Studio may have managed just that. Reflecting the futuristic theme of Gupta’s ‘Moondust’ collection, the runway was transformed into a fantasy space with elaborate light installations from Klove. Inspired by Gaurav’s couture palette of flowing silvers, the stage was set with ripples of grey fabric dotted with spheres of gold lights. Designers Prateek Jain and Gautam Seth from Klove call it “a couture light form, where drape and structure come together”, blending fluid fabric and glass seamlessly with Gupta’s surreal gowns.
If your invite got lost in the mail, you’ll only see Klove’s installations in your Instagram feed. Imitating the couture designer’s signature boning technique, Klove’s decorative elements were unique to the fantastical show.
