JUL 26, 2017 | By Reecha Kulkarni
L-R: A tree trunk is the foundation of the table, with a little garden on the surface; The table is an open medicine dispensing area, with traditional and modern medicine elements.
Hanging tree installations greet you while bottles “float” on tall glass shelves. A tree trunk sits as a base to a solid wood table in the middle of the room, and you wonder if you’ve walked into a futuristic forest. You’ve entered Molecure Pharmacy, designed to revolutionize the way we look at pharmacies and modern medicine.
The pharmacy introduces natural elements in their contemporary design, replacing wallpaper with white cobblestones and clinical white shelves with wood. Don’t forget to look up while the pharmacist hands you your medicines. Glass test tubes and indoor greens hover above you, while colouful acrylic racks go up to the tall ceiling.
An element that got our attention was the copper sculptural staircase leading to the first floor. Resembling the biological construction of DNA, the structure firmly integrates the theme of coexistence in traditional and modern medicine. Designed by Taiwan’s Waterfrom Design, the space combines indoor greens and natural light to create a space that truly is healing.
