Bring out the stash of refused fabric that you saved for your patchwork quilt, and instead sew them deftly onto your interiors

Whoever said old is gold is right on the money. Bring out the stash of refused fabric that you saved for your patchwork quilt, and instead sew them deftly onto your interiors. As an example, here are a few ideas of what you can do with your high-tea party setup.

1. Keep it Light: Pep up a plain lampshade on an empty frame with strips of textiles tied in knots. Remember to be bold with your choice of colours and prints.

2. Build a Case: Innovate with cookie boxes by shaping and decorating them to look like perfectly cut pastries. Pastel hued waste cloth and leftover lace will do the trick.

3. Hang in There: Upcycle an old plate and give it a new lease of life. Simply wrap it halfway with printed fabric and use it to hold flowers and knick-knacks.
