Convert your TV into a picture frame

Samsung's The Frame is a work of art you could invest in

If you’re anything like us, you like your technology with a minimal aesthetic, futuristic in function and preferably inconspicuous. Award winning industrial designer Yves Behar’s studio had a similar idea for their newest product. For Samsung, Fuseproject imagined The Frame, a flat screen TV that doubles up as an artwork. Instead of fading to black when turned off, this innovative gadget goes into Art Mode to display an image, entirely disappearing into the decor of the room. You can choose from 100 professional paintings and photographs by various artists across genres or even showcase pictures of your own. Samsung also provides owners with subscriptions to world renowned museums and art galleries like Magnum Photos and Saatchi Art. Interestingly, The Frame uses motion sensor technology to detect movement in the room. It’s been envisioned to turn into a painting when someone is around and power off otherwise. To make it look more like a mounted piece of canvas, the TV’s brightness sensor automatically adjusts the image based on the area’s lighting. To further personalise it, you can even choose the colour of the border to suit your interiors. And yes, it’s a 4K HDR smart TV that comes in options of 55 and 65 inches. Hang on to that!
