As a result of months of research by top designers, architects and sociologists by Asian Paints, ‘Passion Flower’ was declared Colour of The Year 2018, aptly named after its golden glow. The reveal was also accompanied by the mood of the country, encapsulated in four design trends: Untamed, Humane, Busy Cool and Alchemy of Memories.

While the fluorescent colours of Untamed tapped into the absurd extremes and explosions of identity in the 21st century, Busy Cool called out to 9 to 5 professionals and their lifestyles with plush purples and reds. The romance of art and history brought together faded velvets and natural tan in Alchemy of Memories, while Humane captured the need to get away from technology with organic patterns and polished copper.
