Art events worth visiting before the end of 2018!

Watch out Art lovers! It’s time to get ready for this season’s latest trending events in the Art world Make time in your schedule for:

A combination of an art exhibition for a good cause of raising funds. This is the brainchild of Gallery Art and Soul at Worli, NGOs Khelshala, sports-based NGO founded by Satinder Bajwa that has established an institute that provides sports, yoga, nutrition in a holistic manner to 80 children who have been pulled in off the roads and onto the courts. “Breaking Barriers” will be inaugurated by Twinkle Khanna. 30 leading Indian artists have united to create breathtaking beautiful horse sculptures true to their individualistic art styles. The aim of this event is to not only have fun but also to raise maximum funds and all proceeds will go to two special NGOs, Khelshala and Passages (serving breast cancer patients) along with other issues; for example health, domestic violence, legal rights, parenting issues, drug abuse and more. Indian Modern Art Gallery, DAG presents India’s Rockefeller Artists: An Indo-U.S. Cultural Saga in its Mumbai Gallery — a seminal exhibition that showcases iconic works of the Indian painters and sculptors who travelled to the US on grants enabled by John D. Rockefeller III’s philanthropic vision. The grant benefitted some of India’s most important artists, among them V. S. Gaitonde, Tyeb Mehta, Bhupen Khakhar, Akbar Padamsee, Ram Kumar, Bal Chhabda and Krishen Khanna, all associates of the then Bombay-based Progressive Artists’ Group were some of the others whose contribution to Indian art practice in the twentieth century has been noteworthy. The exhibition by Neeraj Goswami is in collaboration with the Sanchit Art Gallery in Delhi and is taking place at TAO Art Gallery, Mumbai. In his solo show we find Abstract art in a new light. The West grew out of the need to develop a personalised image of spiritual feelings — Neeraj’s art successfully reflects how he feels from within, subjects do not matter as much as visual expression and experience of forms and dimensions. The Amaya Collection is a series of astonishing masterpieces of recognised Indian artists. The auctions will take place on www.saffronart.com and are preceded by viewings of select lots in New Delhi, Mumbai and London. All lots can be viewed on the website and at the auction house. There are two collections that make the Amaya collection whole, Indian contemporary and Modern Indian. Contemporary Indian Art: The contemporary art auction will feature 47 exceptional works that demonstrate the diversity of India’s contemporary art scene. Many lots in the auction were among the earliest works in the careers of celebrated artists including Subodh Gupta, Bharti Kher, Atul Dodiya, Shilpa Gupta and Dayanita Singh.

Modern Indian Art: The modern Indian art sale features 86 works by significant Indian Modernists including Bhupen Khakhar, Akbar Padamsee, Manjit Bawa, S H Raza, F N Souza and Arpita Singh. Serendipity Arts Festival is India’s first multidisciplinary arts event, the Serendipity Arts Festival 2018 will ignite Goa with over 90 dynamic projects highlighting India’s rich traditions of music, dance and theatre, alongside culinary arts, craft, and visual arts exhibitions. Serendipity Arts Festival will take place across 10 venues, energising Goa and transforming Panaji into a vibrant cultural space with multiple exhibitions, performances and immersive art experiences. An initiative of the Serendipity Arts Foundation, founded in 2016 by Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, the Festival’s third edition is focused on fostering cultural development, supporting emerging artists across South Asia and is unique as the only art event in the country that unites the creative disciplines.
