A collaboration where creativity knows no bounds. This is the story of a Gurugram home shaped to perfection by Anushka Shetty Architecture. The home evokes a sense of understated elegance and cultural celebration located in DLF Magnolias.

The journey of this home began when the clients, a family of four with a deep affinity for Indian art, sought out a bespoke and luxurious space that would reflect their collective stories and experiences. The design studio, discovered through Instagram, immediately connected with the clients’ vision and embarked on a remarkable transformation of this 4,500 sq ft apartment.

The furniture by DemuroDas sits amidst an open to light living room. The rug is from a vendor in Jaipur. The lights are from Klove and drapery from The Pure Concept. The art of crafts

As you enter the house, you’re greeted by a captivating custom-designed metal screen. Acting as a divider and connector, it leads you to the dining area, while also offering a glimpse into the exquisite living room beyond.

The living room boasts a seamless open plan, featuring a harmonious blend of formal and informal seating. The white marble flooring, adorned with a book-matched pattern, adds a touch of symmetry and visual interest. Expansive windows invite the outside beauty of the golf course’s treetops, creating a tranquil ambiance within. The walls, finished with pigmented marmo cement, provide a sublime backdrop for the statement furniture and artwork. Large sculptural lighting pieces adorn the ceiling corners, casting an enchanting glow.

A monolithic bar counter, clad in beige ribbed stone, stands proudly next to a captivating artwork by Shobha Broota. The same stone panels the opposite wall, offering a delightful contrast to the formal seating area.

The dining area, nestled in a corner adjacent to the kitchen, finds its identity within the open plan. A marble and wood crockery unit seamlessly blends with the veneer ceiling, discreetly concealing trap doors for the centralised AC units.

Dramatic but inspiring

The drama continues with a powder toilet that embraces natural materials. A carefully selected beige travertine marble slab, showcasing its natural grain, is complemented by black and gold Nero St Laurent marble accents. The intentionally moody colour palette, chosen to compensate for the lack of natural light, creates a captivating atmosphere.

The Master Bedroom, with its en-suite seating area, presents a play of scale and custom design. A bed with a long latticework headboard, reminiscent of a Japanese screen, justifies the room’s grand proportions. Engineered wooden flooring replaces marble, considering the extreme Delhi weather.

The older daughter’s Bedroom exudes playfulness, featuring a sunny yellow winged bed against a pigmented marmo cement wall adorned with silvered veneer panelling. Mixed prints and patterns breathe life into the room through carefully chosen fabrics. A long study unit, boasting a wedged cantilever table top, sits across from the bed. The subtle groove detailing on the shelves and shutters adds a touch of lightness to the overall design. The bathroom, offering ample space, showcases a scooped shower cubicle adorned seamlessly with vibrant blue mosaic tiles, allowing for playful spatial arrangements.

The younger daughter’s Bedroom maintains a homogeneous design language, characterised by chamfered edges and an earthy palette of browns and greens. Rustic materials such as cane and jute lend tactile richness to the space. The headboard wall panel intentionally remains bare, inviting the daughter to personalise and build her own art collection. Former pieces are curiously composed around a niche, breaking free from the conventional order. The bathroom follows suit, featuring soft chamfered edges and hints of warm wood and sage green.
