Organised by Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, Ambiente—one of the world’s largest consumer goods trade fairs—is geared up to celebrate and reinterpret the global design scene. Encompassing a staggering range of products across a myriad of sectors such as dining, cooking, household items, furnishings and ornaments, interior design, gifts, jewellery and fashion accessories, this trend-setting fair is a source to be reckoned with!

Here’s a list of bookmarks to check out at the fairgrounds:

1. Draw from a gargantuan storehouse of inspirations and innovations for your next project With over 4,460 international brands participating at the fair, Ambiente divides the design displays across three verticals—Dining, Giving and Living. The line-up includes established designer brands, selected artisan studios, young labels and classic suppliers for the home and decorations. Highlights for the coming season will cover the latest styles such as Japandi and Wabi Sabi as well as interpretations of major current trends. Around 1,100 international exhibitors will be turning the Living area into a multifaceted source of inspiration for buyers and experts in interior design and contract furnishing. Moreover, for the first time this year, Ambiente will have a dedicated HoReCa hall, so that a large part of the product range for hotels, restaurants and caterers is gathered in one place.

2. Trend alerts for 2020Commissioned by Messe Frankfurt, Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano will showcase the three most important trends using exhibitor products—shaped + softened, where functional furnishings achieve a sculptural quality; precise + architectural, involving a powerful material aesthetic with an industrial ambience; and artistical + diverse, where art and craft interact with digital technology in a creative use of materials and manufacturing processes.

3. Creative sustainable ideas Sustainability is a rapidly growing trend and need of the hour, and this is reflected in the Ambiente Ethical Style Guide—a curated directory featuring 314 exhibitors from 49 countries who follow eco-friendly and socially responsible production standards. At the trade fair itself, Ethical Style stands will be clearly marked as such so that visitors can spot them easily.
