Within the many walls and windows, every corner holds an idea with which a space shapes itself into design. The perception of design travels beyond the idea of just viewing it, rather it conveys a way of experiencing it.

IDUS, a 10,000 sq ft retail store in New Delhi unveils the idea of merging the concept of space and experience, conceptualised and designed by I’m D’sign and I’mX with Mariana Cunha Guimarães.

Blurring the boundaries

IDUS, a furniture store that reimagines the concept of fine living, exhibits a sonorous play of textures. The ceiling guides the store with curved floating walls that welcome you to experience design almost in a way that speaks to you. The principles of Sciography showcase how this retail store lets the vast area create a continuum to the space.

With muted curved walls creating a flow through the store, they offer a backdrop to the furniture pieces. A new story spirals around each furniture, entailing the exploration of design that gains a new perspective with each look.

The sculptural flow

With an extensive store, the whole space is bound into small segments that divulge into different themes. Every nook and cranny of the space feels like it’s enveloped into a phenomenon but at the same time, gives room for a character to build up.

A touch of simplicity wraps sophistication with spatial sections that connect the patrons to the visual elements of the store.

The language of design

Ditching the common concepts of stores, IDUS emerges in a rather different way, where patrons explore each piece with a unique design language. Every blend of textures and shades with its volume and sculptural design, define the nature of the store.

And as you move around, traversing through the furniture pieces, the flow of visuals greet you at each step while ideas make their place in every corner.
