“Geometric prints and traditional floral patterns will also be seen making a comeback with a twist". "A velvet sofa or even a few cushions in the living room can add a plush look to any room". Minimalism: “The key is to focus on simple yet statement décor items".

Are all the rooms in your home accidentally twinning? Decorating to different tastes and trends is a task, leaving you with the risk of repetition and being #Basic. ELLE DECOR India takes this syndrome very seriously. We asked fabric giant D’Decor’s Business Head, Sanjana Arora, how she would style homes according to what’s trending in 2018. With four distinct trends and looks on her radar, Sanjana cures decoration déjà vu. 1. Minimalism“The key is to focus on simple yet statement décor items…This trend can be incorporated in the living room or even the bedroom by opting for a light, neutral or monochromatic colour palette for various furniture pieces as well as décor objects.” 2. Vintage geometrics and florals“Geometric prints and traditional floral patterns will also be seen making a comeback with a twist. This trend can be best incorporated into the bedroom as bedsheets, duvets and pillow covers, with clean and simple lines from geometric prints, and vintage vibes from florals.” 3. Velvet“Velvet was once considered old-fashioned, but the material helps create a soft and feminine look that simply cannot be achieved by other materials. A velvet sofa or even a few cushions in the living room can add a plush look to any room.”4. Dichotomy“Home décor elements in two tones or contrasting colours can instantly brighten up a space. For example, if the walls are white, the bedsheets and other furnishings could be black, lending a bold look to the room.”
