This stainless steel museum in China is the perfect tribute to roses

Sweet, subtle, romantic and perennial, the rose has been a universal symbol of inspiration and love. In its recent reincarnation, this iconic bloom has found its way to Beijing, China, as the world’s first Rose Museum.

A first of its kind, the Rose Museum is completed by NEXT Architects China that amalgamates the flower’s conventional significance and ornamental value with a contemporary design. With a curvaceous structure, it features a stainless steel facade perforated with a pattern of Chinese roses. The facade is detached from the main building, creating four exhibition spaces inside.

Understandably a nod to traditional Chinese architecture, at night the building’s exterior lights up to project shadows of the blooms outside. A monumental tribute to the flower, we recommend visiting the Rose Museum to honeymooners looking for an offbeat destination.
