Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore once described Korea as “The Land of the Morning Calm”. Years later, a 3,22,917 sq ft garden conceptualised by Professor Han Sang-Kyung from the Gardening Department of Sahmyook University, South Korea, named the property after the Indian poet’s description, calling it The Garden of Morning Calm. Currently it is the venue for the Lighting Festival that continues to take place till mid-March this year. The event showcases one lakh colourfully bulbs at night to celebrate the glory of winter while marking the onset of spring. The main areas to visit here are Hakyung Garden, Hometown House Garden, Bonsai Garden, Moonlight Garden, Sky Path and Garden of Eden where cheerful illuminators adorn trees and brushes.
